Firefighters are at the scene of a huge blaze in Torquay this morning, Tuesday 4th June.
Shedden Hill Road is currently closed as firefighters battle the blaze at the disused Shedden Hall Hotel.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire just before 7am.
Smoke can be seen across Torquay.
Fire crews from across the area are in attendance.
Devon and Somerset Fire and rescue service said on their website: “Multiple calls flooded into Fire Control this morning with people informing us of a large building fire in the Shedden hill area of Torquay.
“The fire was found to be in a large hotel currently under renovation. At this time there are 10 pumping appliances and several special appliances fighting the fire including and aerial ladder platform attacking fire from above,”
Shedden Hill Road in both directions closed, slow traffic due to building fire from Torbay Road to St Lukes Road.
Crews from across South Devon are currently attending a large fire on Shedden Hill Road Torquay. Please avoid the area if possible.
