Fisherman threatened with knife and fish stolen by men in inflatable

Appeal for witnesses following assault in Kingsbridge

Police have appealed for information after a fisherman was threatened with a knife and had his fish stolen this morning, Sunday 24th June.

The incident happened off Slapton Sands. Two men in a white inflatable cut the fisherman’s nets, stole his fish and threatened the fisherman with a knife.

Kingsbridge have asked the public not to buy from unreputable sources.

Posting on Facebook this morning, Kingsbridge Police said: “This morning at about 0530 a local fisherman was threatened out to sea by Slapton Sands by two men in a white inflatable. They had cut his nets and stolen the fish. He was threatened with a knife.

“Please don’t buy any fish from unreputable sources,”
