Are you looking to put yourself in the best position to start your studies this September? South Devon College has a new initiative for year 11 students coming up to leaving school that will help you get ahead. This initiative is the Summer Academy, and the College are ready to help.
The Summer Academy is your opportunity to try out some of the exciting things on offer at South Devon College. From Early Years to Public Services, there are lots of ways for you to get ahead and learn something new, as well as meeting new people with similar interests to you.
Some of the things you could learn are how to complete a range of beauty treatments, the secrets of mummification, how to play in a band, or learn about mammals and livestock and have the chance to meet the animals at the College’s Animal Care Unit. There’s something for everyone at the Summer Academy.
South Devon College are offering these experiences in twilight sessions across a wide variety of subject areas, with each subject area running sessions that span across two to six weeks.
You don’t even need to have applied for a course at the College yet. This programme is open for year 11 students to register that are keen to set themselves apart from the rest. The College is keen to offer students as many new and exciting opportunities as possible after such a challenging year.
Whatever your plans, goals or next steps are, South Devon College want to help you get there.
The College is offering these programmes in line with current Covid-19 restrictions, requiring you to show a recent negative test result within four days before each session. Masks will be required at all times unless exempt and if you have any coronavirus symptoms you won’t be able to attend.
The Summer Academy sessions are taking place on various days between 21st April and 23rd July. To find out more about the Summer Academy programme, visit southdevon.ac.uk/events. If you have any questions, get in touch by calling 08000 380 123 or email enquiries@southdevon.ac.uk.
