Guest Blog: Fight From Isolation

We are a friendly local community support group that holds all kinds of events, clubs, and peer to peer support groups.

All of our events are at different locations, as this makes sure we always have something that fits everyone’s needs during a month itinerary.

How Torquay Votes

Everything we do is founded in our core belief that no one should be left behind or feel that they are isolated. We all have our own life’s path, but that should never be a lonely one.

Our commitment to our members and the community is to always provide a safe space for accepting, listening, sharing, and supporting each other. We are not professionals by any means, but we will always do our best to give the advice and support that we can possibly give. Whether this is from our own experiences or by signposting to a service that can help and support you in that time of need.

As the founder of Fight From Isolation I feel I should tell you why I felt the need to start such a group. I have always moved around due to one reason or another, but everywhere I have lived I have always noticed that many people feel isolated. This may be because of just moving to a new area, or due to having some issues around social anxiety and the things attached to this, it may even be due to financial issues. I have had my dark time in years gone past and I always felt the need for some kind of support but find I can never open up to the professionals as I call them. So, my aim with this group is to fill the gaps in the community and try to get the spirit and support of years gone by where people use to meet friends and socialise, whilst in a supportive environment. I suffer with mental health issues but have worked hard and still am working to overcome them challenges, but I could never find the right help or support out there. So I would like Fight From Isolation to be there for each and everyone of the community, as I don’t want one person to feel how I did all them years back.

So, after all of that I bet your now wondering how you can get involved or find out more information about us here at Fight From Isolation. well here goes.
