Torbay’s tourism businesses have an important role to play in influencing the next steps for industry support in their sector.
After the recent combined Torbay Retail and Tourism Business Improvement District (TRTBID) ballot did not receive sufficient support to proceed, TDA is working with partners to provide an ongoing and sustainable solution.
A short survey will be sent out to understand how Torbay businesses value the current tourism business support on offer in Torbay, which could be changed significantly. It will also determine if there is an appetite amongst businesses to develop a revised Torbay Tourism Business Improvement District (TTBID).
Executive Lead of Tourism, Culture and Harbours, Councillor Nicole Amil, said: “The results from this survey will be used by TDA and local tourism organisations to decide on the next steps for the future of tourism business support in Torbay. I strongly urge Torbay businesses to participate as it is very important for them to voice their opinions to ensure that we have a clear picture of business needs.
“The research that we will obtain from this survey will provide a clear indication as to what tourism support services are needed in Torbay. It is therefore vital that as many businesses as possible communicate their needs through this survey
