Residents and developers in Torbay are being asked for their views on a new updated version of an important document related to planning applications.
Torbay Council’s Local Validation List establishes the information that the Council needs applicants to submit in support of their planning and other applications which are assessed and determined by the Council as the Local Planning Authority.
It is a requirement of Paragraph 44 of the National Planning Policy Framework (2021) that Local Planning Authorities review their Local Lists at least every two years.
Councillor Chris Lewis, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Place said: “We are reviewing our Local Validation List and we want people in Torbay to let us know what they think.
“As part of this we are consulting on modifications made to the document which are proposed to better reflect local planning policies, legislation and other guidance. The layout and format of the document has also been updated with the aim of making it shorter, simpler and easier to use.”
The consultation is open from Monday 14 August 2023 to Monday 25 September 2023. The consultation documents and background information will be available online at https://www.torbay.gov.uk/torbay-local-validation-list-consultation/
Feedback on the draft document can be emailed to future.planning@torbay.gov.uk
Torbay Council say they will carefully consider the feedback received to help inform a final version of the Local Validation List.
All details on the consultation, supporting documents and how to respond will be available at https://www.torbay.gov.uk/torbay-local-validation-list-consultation/ The consultation will close at midnight on 25 September.
Printed copies of the Local Validation List will also be available at local libraries and on request.
