A 10 year old girl from Torquay will be hosting a community coffee morning in Torquay in aid of Cancer research.
Leah Pike will be hosting the coffee morning at the Drum Inn in Cockington on the 18th March.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be attending the event which starts at 9am, finishing at 11.30am. There will also be face painting, a tomobola and bric a brac stalls.
Leah has not only been working hard on organising the event, she will also be baking and making cakes and biscuits to sell.
Leah’s mum told Jemma us: “As Leah’s mum it is hard to put into words the pride myself and my husband have for my daughter for doing this.
“Unfortunately Leah knows all too well how much cancer can affect the families of loved ones who are suffering as she lost her grandad to cancer and also her grandma is battling it everyday. It warms my heart that my daughter is growing up to be such a kind and thoughtful girl,”
Leah has set up a JustGiving page and £140 of the £150 target has already been reached: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Leah-Pike2017
Leah says: “Sadly my grandad passed away from cancer. I miss him everyday and I know my daddy does too. I miss him giving me the things that my mum and dad said I couldn’t have (chocolate biscuits) him wheeling me around in his wheel chair but most of all his cuddles filled with love.”
Raffle tickets are also on sale from The Drum Inn, Cockington. KP Auto Services, Kingsteignton and The Country Table, Newton Abbot.
