Police appeal to public to help identify man in connection with distraction theft

Police have appealed to the public to help them identify a man in connection with a distraction theft in Teignmouth.

Police have released the image of the man following the incident in August.

Posting on social media, Devon and Cornwall Police said:
“At around 3.25pm on Friday 11 August, a man entered Shaldon Bakery on Northumberland Place in Teignmouth. The man approached the store assistant and advised that his mother had left a walking stick behind the previous day. The assistant left the till area and went out the back to look for the stick. Whilst the assistant was away, the man took around £200 – £300 from the till,”
