Laser shone at police helicopter flying over Torbay

Two people have been arrested after a laser was shone at the police helicopter as it flew over Torbay last night, Sunday 17th March.

The police have Tweeted an image of the light being shone at the helicopter obscuring their vision. The crew had been searching for suspects following an incident in Broadsands, Paignton (More here).

NPAS Exeter said: “Whilst assisting @DC_Police, our aircraft came under sustained laser strike from the Torbay area. This is extremely dangerous and can lead to a prison sentence of up to 5 years.”
