During the pandemic, Veincentre has received record numbers of enquiries from patients in Exeter and across the UK who have either been in discomfort with their legs after working throughout the lockdown, often on their feet for long period of times, or individuals who have been hiding their legs and are now wanting to tackle their problem before all the restrictions are eased and the summer arrives.

The new clinic will create 5 jobs in the local area including roles for, receptionists, staff nurses and specialist vascular consultants and is part of Veincentre’s ambitious growth strategy to have a portfolio of 15 clinics across the UK by the end of 2021. To date, Veincentre has 12 clinics located in London, Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, Southampton, Cardiff, Stoke, Leeds, Oxfordshire (Chipping Norton), Nottingham, Glasgow, Cambridge and soon Exeter.

Dr David West, Medical Director at Veincentre said: “The team have been working so hard over the past few weeks to get the clinic ready to welcome our first patients in April. It will be fantastic to have a centre in Exeter so our patients will no longer have long distances to travel before and after treatment. It is not widely known but Varicose veins affect 30% of the population. They cause both cosmetic and symptomatic distress to patients and if left untreated can result in venous ulcers and varicose eczema.”

Veincentre treated TV presenter Julia Bradbury best known for presenting Countryfile when she came for help with her “stilton like” legs after the birth of her twins. Julia is delighted with the treatment and is now able to go for long walks and not be afraid to bare her legs when out and about.

Veincentre is a specialist medical centre for the treatment of varicose veins using Gold Standard minimally invasive techniques. Their vision is to provide the highest quality of care at a reasonable price utilising the most effective evidence-based treatments.
