In response to COVID19, the Podiatry Team have had to move from seeing their patients predominantly in clinics, to seeing our most vulnerable patients with foot ulcers in their home settings.
Angie Abbott, Head of Podiatry and Orthotics Services at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We did not have sufficient bags to supply our staff with the equipment to undertake home visits but Convatec, a company that supply wound dressings to the NHS, has kindly donated 10 bags for our staff to use and some of the dressings to stock the bags.
“We’re delighted to have been able to send the first of our staff out on visits with this new equipment in the past few days.”
This is another example which highlights the generosity of local companies helping out the NHS and how local health services are responding to the challenges of keeping vulnerable people safe at home.
The Podiatry Team would like to thank Convatec for the bags and also their patients for their understanding and cooperation at this difficult time.
