Specsavers Paignton is undergoing a significant refit to bring more 21st-century technology to the store.
The Victoria Street store’s makeover will cost more than a quarter of a million pounds, seeing the creation of an additional testing room, an updated audiology room, a digital front window display screen, and new signage and fascia outside.
There will also be improved lighting using energy-saving LEDs and new up-to-date displays to illuminate the glasses frames.
The ambitious undertaking began on 17 April and will last for four weeks. The store will remain open throughout, with the work not affecting customers.
Winnie Maina, store director, says: ‘We’re really excited about these changes to the store. It will make a big difference to our customers’ experience, demonstrating our desire to bring the best possible service for the people of Paignton.
‘We have always been proud to be part of Paignton’s forward-looking community and these changes show our confidence in the town’s future.
‘We’ve also been motivated by the increased numbers of customers wanting our high-quality eye and hearing services.
‘We believe the investment we’re making now will bring real benefits to our customers, combining the latest eye care, hearing care and retail technology to provide a highly professional and ultra-modern service.’
