Police appeal for information following handbag thefts in Torquay

Police have arrested a 52 year old man on suspicion of theft following handbag thefts in Torquay.

There have been a number of purse and handbags thefts in the area recently. Police had recently appealed for information online regarding any attempted thefts that may not have been reported.

Posting on Facebook yesterday, 22nd December, Torquay Police said:
“Following a spate of handbag and purse thefts across Torquay in recent weeks. Officers from the Torquay Neighbourhood team today arrested a 52 year old male from Torquay on suspicion of theft.

“He remains in custody assisting officers with their enquiries. Further updates will be given in due course,”
