A man has been arrested following an incident in Paignton on Friday 16 June.
Emergency services were called to Torbay Road at arpund 6.20pm to reports of a serious assault involving a bladed weapon.
A police corden was put up whilst the incident was dealt with and a weapon was seized at the scene.
The victim, a local man in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment. Police state that his injuries are believed to be potentially life changing.
Police have charged a 29-year-old man in connection to the incident. He has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent, burglary, possession of a bladed article, racially aggravated harassment, and breach of a court order. He will appear at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court today [19 June].
