Man charged after two police officers stabbed

Appeal for witnesses following serious collision on A38

A man has been charged with the wounding of two police officers following an incident in Princetown in the early hours of Friday morning, 9 July.

Police were called to reports of an assault at an address in Burrator Avenue, the suspect left the scene but later, at 3am, encountered two police officers, who both sustained stab and laceration wounds.

Both officers involved received hospital treatment and have both now been discharged.

Jon Ross, aged 60, of Burrator Avenue, Princetown, is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 10 July, charged with two counts of wounding with intent. Ross is further charged with possession of a bladed article, assault by beating of an emergency worker, and common assault of an emergency worker.
