A man has been charged with attempted murder following a hit and run in Paignton earlier this month.
Lewis McKenzie, 25, of Queen Elizabeth Drive, Paignton, is further charged with failing to stop after a road accident and failing to report a road accident. Lewis appeared before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 13 March and has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Exeter Crown Court on 15 April.
The incident happened on Tuesday 2 March on Foxhole Road in Paignton. A pedestrian, a man in his 30s sustained life-changing injures.
A 32-year-old Paignton woman who was previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released on police bail until 29 March. Enquiries continue.
