Emergency services were called to Goodrington sands today after reports of a swimmer in difficulty.
There were several 999 calls from members of the public just after 1pm today after the man was spotted in trouble whilst in the sea.
Lifeguards from nearby Splashdown waterpark entered the water and assisted the man back to shore.
A spokeperson for Torbay Coastguard said:
“We were called to Goodrington beach after several 999 calls about a person in the water in difficulties, Torbay Lifeboat was also launched. Splashdown lifeguards had entered the water to assist the casualty back to the beach where a paramedic checked him over.”
Torbay RNLI’s All Weather Lifeboat was also launched to the incident.
