Police have appealed to the public for witnesses following a serious collision in Torquay last night, Sunday 16 March.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a red Vauxhall Astra and a building on Teignmouth Road at around 9.55pm.
Police, the fire service, ambulance crews and an air ambulance attended the incident.
A 45-year-old local man sustained life-changing injuries, and was taken to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
The road was closed whilst investigations took place.
A 32-year-old man from Torquay was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in custody at this time.
A second person, who is thought to have left the scene of the collision, is being sought in relation to this incident.
