A man was taken to hospital following a fire in Widecombe that caused extensive damage to a house this morning.
The fire service were alerted to the blaze by a neighbour.
The fire was tackled by 40 firefighters from Bovey Tracey, Ashburton, Buckfastleigh, Moretonhampstead, Princetown and Totnes.
One man was taken to hospital suffering from minor burns and smoke inhalation. Another man at the property was uninjured.
The Red Cross Fire & Emergency Support Services vehicle attended the incident.
Police closed roads nearby and carried out traffic duties.
The fire service said that 80% of the building has been destroyed by fire.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
