Police appeal to public for information on missing woman

Police have made an urgent appeal for information after the disappearance of a woman from Exeter.

Bulgarian woman Gergana Prodanova, 38, was reported missing on Monday 8th August after she has failed to turn up for work shifts over the weekend. She was last seen at a food store in Sidwell Street in Exeter at around 8pm on Thursday 4th August.

Gergana is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, of slim build with long black hair. She may have been wearing a three quarter length beige coat.

Police launched a major investigation and a 42 year old Bulgarian man has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with Gergana’s disappearance and is being questioned by police.

Detective Superintendent Paul Burgan said:
“If you have seen Gergana since last Thursday, the 4th of August, or if you know her current whereabouts, please get in touch with police now. Call 101 or email 101@dc.police.uk and quote log number 462 of the 8th of August.
“We are extremely concerned for Gergana’s welfare and safety and would welcome any information that the public can give us.”
