Murder investigation launched after discovery of body in flat

Police have launched a murder investigation following the discover of a body at a flat in Plymouth over the weekend.

Investigations are on going after the discovery of a body at a first floor flat on Union Street in Plymouth on Saturday 17 December.
.
A 35 year old man who was arrested over the weekend, remains in police custody.

Formal identification of the victim has now taken place.  The deceased has been named as Gary Miller, who was aged 44 and lived at Chapel Street in Devonport.  The victim had suffered significant head injuries by an undisclosed weapon.

Detective Inspector Ian Ringrose, leading the investigation said: “This is still early in the investigation and we’re busy piecing information together to gain a picture of what has taken place.

“It’s possible someone may have some useful information that will help us.  I’d like to appeal to anyone who believes they have any information that they think may help, no matter how small, to contact us.”
