A man was arrested in Totnes late Thursday night, 16th February after police were called to Pathfields, Bridgetown by members of the public reporting a naked man who was smelling of petrol and hitting cars with various objects.
Police were called to the area at around 10:30pm. The man has attacked several passing cars with a tree branch, large pieces of wood and glass bottles.
Describing the incident, a spokesperson for Totnes Police said:
“Upon police arrival, he threw bottles, a petrol can and wood at the first car on scene, but was brought under control by officers, a fire extinguisher used to marinate him in foam.
“He has subsequently been charged with several counts of criminal damage, public order offences and drink driving. Police log 943 16/02/17 refers,”
