TORQUAY Willows Specsavers has issued a huge thank-you to its South Devon customers after they helped it be named the second-best opticians in all of England.
The store was shortlisted among only five opticians’ outlets across the country chosen in the Practice of the Year category at the national AOP Awards.
After weeks of voting by customers and fellow opticians, the Torquay store was named as runner-up at a gala awards night in the ExCel convention centre in London.
The Torquay staff were praised for their excellence in the profession, outstanding talent, innovation and exceptional contributions made to customers.
Simon Simmonds, store director, says: ‘I’m immensely proud of the team and their performance this past year. It’s a fantastic achievement to be named runner-up on such a prestigious awards night.
‘Our staff have worked so hard to be where they are, and this award shows the depth of professional talent there is in South Devon.
‘I’m also really grateful to all the customers who voted for us. It means a great deal to us here at the store, because it shows us that we’re providing the high level of service we aspire to.
‘But we won’t be resting on our laurels. We’ll continue to help our staff to be the best professionals they can, so they can provide the best possible service.’
