South Devon’s Rowcroft Hospice is delighted to welcome Sally Bryant as the new Chair of its Board of Trustees.
Sally has been a trustee of the specialist healthcare charity since January 2017. She takes up the role of chair following four years of voluntary work at the hospice and brings to the role extensive experience as a business leader and HR Director across a wide variety of industries.
Sally replaces from Dr Cathryn Edwards, who stepped down as chair of Rowcroft’s board this month to fulfil her role of President and Chair of the British Society of Gastroenterology.
Commenting on Sally’s appointment, Mark Hawkins, Chief Executive at Rowcroft, said: “We are delighted that Sally has been appointed as Chair of our Board of Trustees. Her wealth of leadership experience will be invaluable support to Rowcroft’s work in making every day the best it can be for people living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon and to our aim to double our care provision by 2030.”
Sally Bryant remarked:
“I continue to be humbled by the hard work and commitment I have witnessed at Rowcroft Hospice and I feel privileged to be part of the team. I look forward to working with staff and fellow trustees to realise the hospice’s ambition to help more people through some of the toughest days of their lives and to be recognised in the community for our palliative and end-of-life expertise and our outstanding care and education.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Cathryn Edwards for her dedication to Rowcroft over the last four years. During her tenure Cathryn has steered the charity to greater financial sustainability, was instrumental in the development of our five-year strategy and worked to ensure the hospice continues to maintain the highest possible standard of patient care in a challenging funding environment. I am delighted that Cathryn remains a member of our board.”
