Devon Partnership NHS Trust (DPT) has appointed Taps Mutakati as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Taps will assume his position in the early autumn, bringing with him a wealth of experience.
He joins the organisation from NHS Kent and Medway, where he is the Director of Mental Health System Collaboration.
He has previously held posts including Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust and he has senior experience in a number of areas, including out-of-hours services, NHS 111, primary care and secondary care. He also has significant experience in the independent care sector.
DPT’s Chief Executive Officer, Melanie Walker, said: “The addition of Taps to our Executive Team is great news. With his expertise and leadership skills, he will play a pivotal role in driving our organisation’s growth and success. We eagerly anticipate his arrival and the fresh perspectives he will bring to our team.
Commenting on his appointment, Taps said: “I am truly thrilled to be joining DPT at such an exciting time. Demand for mental health, learning disability and neurodiversity services has never been greater and there is a huge amount going on to improve services for people across Devon.”
