Persimmon Homes South West has found its new Project Director.
Gary Male has rejoined the five-star housebuilder following an eight-year stint with Bloor Homes. Gary was previously with Persimmon’s Malmesbury-based Wessex business for 12 years before then. Over the last year, he has been working with Laburnum Associates in the building of large individual country homes.
When he left school, Gary joined Prowting Homes as an apprentice, progressing through the ranks to Technical & Commercial Director, the same position he held with Persimmon. Prowting Homes went on to become Westbury Homes, which was, in turn, bought out by Persimmon.
During his time with Prowting, Gary gained a degree in construction and he is a MCIOB Chartered Constructions Manager.
In his new role, Gary will be involved in the delivery of the reserved matters consents for Persimmon, Charles Church, and Westbury Partnerships phases at Cranbrook, along with the site-wide infrastructure for the project.
The Cranbrook Expansion will deliver up to 1435 new dwellings, a Neighbourhood Centre, a 630 place primary school, 50 place Special educational Needs School, place of worship, cemetery, and over 27 hectares of open space with various recreational facilities.
Persimmon Homes South West has sites across the regions, with high-quality homes available for sale in Cullompton, Dawlish, Exeter, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Taunton, and Yeovil.
Commenting on his appointment, Gary said:
“I’m delighted to be back with Persimmon after eight years away, and look forward to working with a new team in the South West business.
“The opportunity to join Persimmon South West dealing with the expansion of the existing Cranbrook development was something that appealed straight away, so being back in the Persimmon fold was really enticing.
“I enjoy having a wide-ranging involvement in large projects and being part of their successful progression from initial land purchases into new communities.”
Persimmon Homes South West’s managing director, Dan Heathcote, added:
“With his many years of experience in the industry, I’m delighted to be welcoming Gary to Persimmon’s South West business and am looking forward to seeing what he does in the role.
“We have many high-quality sites across the region with a number of new outlets to commence shortly, so Gary’s appointment will help us to deliver on the business’ priorities and build more homes for local families across the South West.”
