New toilets open at Goodrington in time for school holidays

The newly built toilet block at Goodrington is now open.

This new block, which can be found in the car park in front of Quaywest, is a replacement for the original block that used to be next to the Inn on the Quay and is part of the council’s £1 million investment into modernising toilets across the Bay.

The new block, which will cost 30p to use and will be cleaned and maintained by Healthmatic, includes five unisex toilet cubicles along with a urinal area and three hand washing sinks with dryers. The block also includes a disabled unit.

Councillor Mike Morey, Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Environment and Culture, said: “Getting the site ready for this new toilet block at Goodrington proved challenging and there were delays, but I am now glad to say that these toilets are open. This block will now enhance the current provision of the other two other toilet blocks which can be found at the North and South ends of Goodrington.

“We are now over a year into our three year investment into public toilets and Goodrington follows the new builds and refurbishments at Breakwater, Bank Lane, Brixham, Paignton Seafront and Harbour, Market Street, Beacon Quay, St. Marychurch and Torbay Seafront.”

The new toilets will be open seven days a week, 8 am to 8 pm in the summer and 9 am to 6 pm in the winter.

The next toilets to receive an investment will be Brixham Harbour, which will be a refurbishment, and Victoria Square in Paignton, which will be a new build.

If you experience any issue with the toilet facilities across Torbay please communicate directly with Healthmatic’s 24hr Service Line – 01249 823143.
