Police say the circumstances in which a 31-year-old man died in Newton Abbot yesterday, Monday 8th April are not being treated as suspicious.
Emergency services were called to an address in Spencer Road yesterday afternoon following concerns for the welfare of a man at the property.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics but was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The man’s next of kin have been made aware.
The road was closed and a cordon was put into place, with nearby properties being evacuated after a number items were located, requiring testing by the Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Department [EOD].
The cordon was lifted and people were allowed to return to their homes this morning.
