Opticians raffling hampers in aid of Rowcroft Hospice

Conscientious staff at Teignmouth Specsavers are getting into the season of goodwill by raffling off festive hampers for Rowcroft Hospice.

The hampers are jam-packed with goodies donated by the store staff, who were inspired to arrange the raffle by retail director Sam Roberts.

Sam saw for herself the hard work and dedication that Rowcroft nurses give to patients when her Grandmother spent the last few weeks of her life there this summer.

Sam says: ‘The work they do at the hospice is incredible. They made my Grandmother as comfortable as possible while she was there and looked after her every need. They were amazing.

‘After my experience with the hospice, I wanted to give something back to them, so as we’re approaching Christmas I thought about raffling off some hampers.

‘All the staff here thought it was a great idea and they’ve been really supportive. We’ve managed to put together some lovely hampers and all the money we raise from raffling them off will go straight to Rowcroft Hospice.

‘Everyone in South Devon probably knows someone who’s been in the hospice, and we all know about the essential work they do there, so I’m hoping we get a lot of support from the public for our pre-festive fundraising.’

Tickets for the hampers are available for £1 per strip from the Specsavers store at 4 Bank Street, Teignmouth TQ14 8AL. For further information, call 01626 870513.
