The rear of the property was found to be well alight.

The fire service said on their website:

“The fire was extinguished using 4 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 main jet, 1 safety jet, 2 thermal image cameras and a positive pressure fan. The kitchen was 100 per cent destroyed by smoke and fire and the remainder of the house was 100 per cent damaged by smoke,”

The cause of the fire is thought to have been started deliberately and is now  being investigated by the Fire Service and Police. The property was unoccupied.
