A message from Torbay Education Safeguarding Service, sent to schools in the area said: A student in Yr 6 was at the crossing from Morrison’s towards the PCSA hub and a greyish/black, small car stopped behind our student and started staring at her. The man was described by the student as being middle aged, with ginger hair and blue eyes. The student turned away but when she turned around again he stared at her again and started to do “follow me signs.” It seemed as though he was trying to get the girl in to his car. As soon as the lights changed to green, our student crossed the road and ran to school because she was scared. A description of the car: Blackout windows only showed the man’s face. The student couldn’t see the number plate. The car looked very clean, so it looked new. The car’s colour was a greyish black. This incident has been reported to the police.
