A pedestrian has died following a collision involving a bus in Plymouth yesterday, Sunday 7 January.
Emergency services were called to Western Approach at around 6.20pm to reports of a collision involving a Plymouth City Bus and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s was confirmed deceased at the scene. Enquiries remain ongoing to locate next of kin.
Police state that a 53-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless / inconsiderate driving. He has since been bailed.
The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene.
Police have appealed for witnesses and have said they would especially like to speak to
passengers who were on the bus, and to the driver of a Ford Fiesta who may have witnessed the collision, along with anyone who may have dashcam footage.
