Police are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old man received a puncture wound to his abdomen.
Police were called to The Strand just after 4.45am this morning [Tuesday 30 August 2016] to reports that a man had been stabbed.
The victim, who was with a friend when the incident happened, was taken to Torbay Hospital for treatment and is currently in a stable, non life-threatening condition.
Cordons were set up and road closures were put in place this morning at the Clock Tower and Fleet Walk in both directions. The roads have now been re-opened.
Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, in particular, a bald man believed to be 40 to 50-years-old, who was wearing a red tee-shirt and blue jeans.
