Police have appealed for witnesses after an 18 year old man was stabbed in Torquay in the early hours of this morning [Tuesday 30 August]
Police were called to The Strand just after 4.45am to reports that a man had been stabbed.
The victim, who was with a friend when the incident happened, was taken to Torbay Hospital for a puncture wound in his abdomen, he is currently in a stable, non life-threatening condition.
Cordons were set up and road closures were put in place this morning at the Clock Tower and Fleet Walk in both directions. The area was closed to both traffic and pedestrians.
The roads have now been re-opened.
Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, in particular, a bald man believed to be 40 to 50-years-old, who was wearing a red tee-shirt and blue jeans.
