Police appeal following hate crime at Torbay Islamic Centre

Police have appealed to residents in the Avenue Road area of Torquay for CCTV following an incident at Torbay Islamic Centre.

Police were called at around 3:40am this morning, Saturday, 27th May to reports of three men, all believed to be in their 20’s using foul and abusive language and throwing stones at Torbay Islamic Centre on Avenue Road, Torquay.

Police will be investigating this incident as a suspected hate crime and will be reviewing CCTV in the area.

If anyone in or around the area of Avenue Road has any CCTV from around the time of the incident that could help police with enquiries, or anyone witnessed the incident, please email 101@dc.police.uk or call 101 quoting crime number CR/040963/17.
