Phone stolen after man threatened with knife in Paignton

​Police have appealed for witnesses after a visually impaired man was assaulted in Torquay.

The incident happened on Friday 30th September in Abbey Road at 11.30pm

The 52 year old victim was walking home from Ryan’s Bar with his guide dog when he was punched by an unknown assailant and fell to the ground. The unprovoked assault happened at the junction of Abbey Road with the roundabout.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 30s to early 40s. He had short hair and was wearing a dark hoodie with a white back and blue jeans.

Police are keen to speak to a driver who stopped to help the victim, and to anyone who witnessed the assault or who has any information that can help the police with their investigation.
