Police appeal for information following Totnes assault

Police have appealed for witnesses following an assault in Totnes.

Police are investigation the assault which happened around 1am on Sunday 1st November during an altercation between 2 groups of people.

The two victims and their friends, all from Ivybridge were approached by a group of four men whilst stood near the taxi rank, who shouted over to them for no apparent reason.

A fight then broke out resulting in the two men being assaulted and knocked unconscious. One of the men sustained a broken jaw and the other a broken nose.

Detective Constable James Brice, from Totnes CID, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was on The Plains at the time and may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have any information which can assist with the investigation.”
