Police appeal for witnesses following fatal collision in Paignton

Man dies following collison in Paignton

Police have appealed to the public for any witnesses to come forward following a fatal collision in Paignton over the weekend.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision on Totnes Road at Tweenaway Cross at around 8.20am on Saturday 9 April.

The collision involved a Nissan Navara and a Vespa moped. A 56-year-old local man who was the rider of the Vespa was pronounced deceased at the scene; His next of kin have been informed.

The road was closed for around 7 hours for investigation work to take place.

Police continue to investigate the incident and have appealed for any witnesses to the collision or dashcam footage.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 or 101@dc.police.uk quoting log 217 9 April.
