Police appeal for witnesses following Paignton armed robbery

Three arrested following Watcombe firearm incident

Police have appealed for information following an armed robbery in Paignton last night, Sunday 18th September.

Shortly after 10pm, three men entered the Best One store on Marldon Road as staff were locking up. Both staff members were subjected to a frightening ordeal and threatened with violence if they refused to open the safe.

Detective Constable Paul Jacobs of Torquay CID said: “The offenders were unsuccessful in gaining entry to the safe but a quantity of cigarettes and cash was taken.

“Thankfully neither of the shop workers were left with any serious physical injuries but are extremely shaken up by the incident.”

One of the suspects is described as 5’ 11” tall, wearing a silver coloured scarf whilst another suspect is described as wearing a dark hoody and was referred to by the name, ‘Ade’.
