Police have appealed for witnesses following a report of robbery and assault in Paignton earlier this month.
Police say they are keen to trace a good Samaritan who intervened and helped the victim during the incident which took place on Saturday 1 April in Colley End Road at about 7pm.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “A man, in his 50s, was approached by two men who reportedly pushed him before punching him to the head, causing facial injuries which required hospital treatment.
“The victim reported that his house keys and a set of headphones were taken before an unknown man appeared and told the suspects to stop.
“The unknown man left the scene before police were called.
“Officers say both suspects were described as being white and in their 30s.
“One was of medium build with short hair, and wore a grey jacket and grey bottoms.
“The second suspect wore a black t-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms.
