Police are investigating in Hele following an incident.
Residents say a man in his 70s was attacked late last night in between Hele Road and Pendennis Road and is currently in hospital having suffered serious injuries.
The alleged attacker was arrested and remains in police custody.
Police have been making door to door enquiries in the area today.
