Police remain at the scene of major hotel fire

Police remain at the scene following a major fire at a Hotel in Wellswood, Torquay last night, Wednesday 31 January.

Emergency services were called to The Coppice Hotel on Barrington Road at around 8.30 pm.

Fire crews and police attended the incident at the disused hotel.

2 aerial platform units and at least 6 other appliances were mobilised to the scene.

Babbacombe Road and Barrington Road were closed whilst the fire was dealt with. Firefighter worked overnight and have now left the scene.

Police remain at the scene with a cordone in place around the hotel. All roads have reopened.
