Police in Torbay have warned the public to be aware of fake £20 and £50 Scottish bank notes that a group of women have been trying to use locally.
The women had been seen using a white car derived van. Police have asked for the public to contact them with information about the women or bank notes.
A spokesperson for Brixham Police said on social media: “Yesterday, three females, described as two younger & one older, heavily made up, wearing designer type clothes, attended various pubs and bars across Torbay trying to pay with fake £50 & £20 Scottish notes. These have been described as fairly obvious copies. They were seen using a white car derived van.
“If you have any information about these females or fake bank notes, please contact the Police via 999 (in an emergency), 101 or our website; Home | Devon & Cornwall Police (https://devon-cornwall.police.uk/)”
