Police warning after outboard motor stolen in Dartmouth

Police in Dartmouth have warned boat owners to be aware after an outboard motor was stolen in Dartmouth.

Police have appealed to the public to get in touch with any information they may have regarding the theft.

A spokesperson for Dartmouth Police said:
“Sometime between 1200hrs on Tuesday 27th October and 0800hrs on Thursday 29th October 2015 an outboard motor was stolen from a dinghy moored on the long stay pontoon in front of public toilets, River Dart, Dartmouth.

“The engine described as a black and blue Mercury, has a black hood over engine and top of shaft is black then the leg has been painted with blue hammerite and a white propellor. Also stolen were the fuel lines and a red plastic can containing 20 litres of petrol.

“Would other boat owners please be aware and report any suspicious activity promptly to the Police. If you have any information regarding this theft please contact 101 quoting crime no. CR/75061/15. Thank you”
