Police in Teignbridge have warned businesses to be aware after fake £20 notes have been used in the area.
Posting on Facebook Teignmouth and Dawlish Neigbourhood Police said: “Over the last week in Teignmouth we have had an influx of counterfeit £20 notes. Unfortunately some shops have already accepted these and wont be reimbursed from the bank of England.

“You will see from the photo that the serial number of DB66 888800 is the same in all notes. There is no see-through register or metallic thread running down the note, the paper also feels thicker than a normal note. Please share to make businesses aware,”
