Local personalised gift business, Fanciflair, has taken the next step in her retail business journey.
Torquay based Mandy Falconer took her home business to the next level on Friday 29 April as she celebrated the official opening of her retail unit in Dartmouth’s Market Square.
Pop up the High Street, which gives retailers the chance to gain a real life experience of retailing on Torquay high street, provided Mandy with the opportunity to test her products on the high street late last year.
Project lead, Liz Edwards, said: “Fanciflair is a fantastic example of how Pop Up the High Street can motivate and inspire retailers to develop their business further. Mandy enjoyed a very successful tenancy at Pop up the High Street and we wish her every success in Dartmouth.”
Dartmouth Market is set in the heart of the historic port of Dartmouth. In addition to a farmers’ market on the second Saturday of each month there is a wide variety of stalls, shops, cafes and services that are open all week.
The launch of Fanciflair was well attended with friends and locals including Dartmouth Mayor, Mayor Lyon.
Mandy said: “The feedback I received whilst in Pop up the High Street was overwhelmingly positive and the increase in demand gave me the confidence to make a retail unit a permanent part of my business plan. I would definitely recommend Pop up the High Street to others. I was able to test the market and receive valuable face to face customer feedback, which is something you can’t get online.”
Fanciflair is now looking forward to what it hopes will be a busy summer period.
