Jess Goodwin, Events Co-ordinator at Rowcroft Hospice, explained:
“This year’s walk features a brand new route, starting and finishing at Torbay Leisure Centre and passing some of the Bay’s most stunning viewpoints at sunset and into the night.

“We are delighted to have announced our rip roarin’ new theme and can’t wait to see the local community come together for what is definitely set to be the wildest Sleep Walk in the west!”

Since it launched four years ago The Sleep Walk has raised a whoppin’ £680,000, helping to support the vital services Rowcroft provides for people living with life-limiting illnesses across South Devon, as well as their loved ones.

Rowcroft’s Inpatient Unit Manager, Sue Harvey, said: “We truly value the support thousands of Sleep Walkers show the hospice every year. It is incredible to see so many people come together to raise money for, and awareness of, the services we provide for people in our community.

“More than 70% of our funding has to be raised by local people, so we are so grateful and thankful for your support.”

The Sleep Walk is open to all ladies over ten-years-old, no matter what their fitness level, but places are expected to fill quickly, added Jess: “Last year’s Sleep Walk sold out in record time, within weeks of registration opening, and we are also expecting a high number of participants for this year’s event. So don’t waste another cotton pickin’ minute, you’d better sign up quickly and get your deputies registered too!”
