Children born between 1 September 2010 and 31 August 2011 are required to transfer to secondary school in September 2022.
Applications for secondary schools are still being accepted, with parents and carers urged to make their decision and get the applications in before the deadline of midnight on 31 October 2021.
Late applications could result in your child not getting into their first-choice school.
Admission arrangements vary from school to school, meaning parents and carers are encouraged to read the admission arrangements for any school they are interested in, before making an application.
Cllr Cordelia Law, Cabinet Member for Children’s Service, Torbay Council, said; “Transferring to secondary school can be very daunting for some children, and we want to do everything we can to make the transition as smooth as possible. That’s why it is very important to get your application in before the deadline to have the best chance of securing a place at your child’s preferred secondary school.”
The best way to apply is using the online system on Torbay Councils website.
If you are unable to apply online you will be able to complete a paper form that will be available from your child’s school or by contacting Student Services on 01803 208908 or email pupil.services@torbay.gov.uk.
Parents will be notified of secondary school allocations in March 2022.
Full details on the application process can be found on the website.
