Crowds hope to see Humpback Whale spotted off Slapton Sands

It has been reported on social media that the humpback whale who has recently been spending time off Slapton sands and Berry head is caught in crab pot ropes off Blackpool Sands.

Initially a call for help was posted by Rachel Cole on Facebook:,
“URGENT! A RIB is needed to assist British divers marine life rescue to help the humpback whale tangled in crab pot ropes at Blackpool sands!! Please PM me if you can help?!”

It was then reported that Dart lifeboat had been launched to assist.
