A well supported Exmouth RNLI “Mayday Funday” Fundraiser raised over £1100 for the local lifesaving charity on Sunday 5 May 2019 at the Lifeboat Station in Queens Drive, Exmouth.
The event, part of the national RNLI annual fundraising campaign and organised by the Exmouth RNLI Events Team, included fun for all the family – Welly Wanging, Decorate a Welly, Follow the Welly Trail, What’s in the Welly, Exmouth RNLI Community Safety advisers, a visit from Exmouth Fire Brigade and much more to keep guests and supporters of all ages well entertained for the day. And to cap it all, Stormy Stan, the RNLI Mascot, called in to say hello and even threw a welly or two!
Louise Hockings-Thompson of the Events Team said “This was our station’s first May Day Fun Day Event at Exmouth and was a resounding success that involved all sections of the volunteers at the station. It was a great day for all the family and I would like to thank everyone who came along and help to raise this huge sum that will now go towards purchasing vital kit for the volunteer Lifeboat Crew. And we managed to get through the day without any shouts!”
